Dive into Spring: Essential Swimming Pool Maintenance Tips

April 11, 2023

As the weather warms up and summer approaches, it's time to consider swimming pool maintenance. Regular maintenance can keep your pool sparkling clean, extend its lifespan, and prevent costly repairs. Here are essential tips to keep your swimming pool in tip-top shape.

Skimming: Skimmers are rectangular openers on the sides of underground pools. If you have an above-ground pool, you can find schemers hanging from the sides of your pool and floating on the surface. Skimmers often accumulate pollutants like debris, sunscreens, etc. It is always a better idea to check and clean your skimmer baskets weekly basis.

Rake and Vacuum: When it comes to cleaning debris like branches, twigs and leaves, it is always better to use a net or rack. You can purchase a rack that comes with a sturdy, lightweight design and an extra wide net with a telescopic pole. Such a rack can make your job easier if you have a large pool. If you want to clean the bottom of your pool, use a vacuum cleaner.

Clear the Filter: Dirty and clogged filters can dramatically affect your pool and cause green or cloudy color. Many tiny particles and debris get stored when the water passes through the filters. This accumulation of debris can cause a sluggish pump that doesn't do its job correctly. Remember one thing different types of filters have different cleaning processes. You should clean the filters weekly.

Maintain the Right PH Level: You can measure the acidity of your pool water by its PH level. Seven is the neutral rate of PH level and it varies between 0-14. If the pH level of your pool is below 7, it means your pool water has a high acidity level. The ideal PH level varies between 7.2-7.6.

Brushing: Brush the side walls of your pool to remove the debris and particles that it accumulates daily. You should brush the pools before running the vacuum cleaner.
